Bigger (Advice To A Friend)

Recently in the face of a bad report about a friend’s personal situation I felt to share my advice to them.

It is my hope that this is a timely message and a blessing to you as well:
“God does have a good plan for your life. So trust Him.”
I don’t have any answers for you… But I know this: God is bigger than all of this.
In the midst of difficult situations like this He asks us to trust Him and His plans and purposes.
He is sovereign, and I know without the shadow of a doubt-He loves us beyond our comprehension.
He promises to be with us, but He never promised us “easy”.
Will you, can you, trust Him even when – especially when- you don’t understand “why”?
This is the essence of “faith”- trusting Him when at the moment nothing makes sense…but down the road all the pieces come together.
He sees the whole picture. We can’t.
Don’t let a root of bitterness take hold against God.
You are being pressed down, but not destroyed.
So press in.
Reject the thoughts of the enemy.
Jer.29:11- which proclaims God’s promises, that He indeed has a hope and a future-is wonderful- but it is conditional.
Here’s the rest of the statement: Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
  Jer.29:12-13
God is deserving of preeminence over every other love-so we have keep Him first over everything.
If you love anything more than you love God, you have made that object an idol.
You may be embittered against some who have hurt you  –
it’s difficult not to be, but you must forgive & release them.
It’s painful, but God wants to do a work in you.
So He is taking you through the crucible of refining fires.
It’s up to you how you will respond.
