“There is a way that seems right to a man; in the end it leads to death.” – Prov.14:12.
Are you following the Lord or are you expecting Him to follow you?
It seems that impetuousness and impatience is inbred into humanity; we see something we want and so we devise a plan to get it without consideration of what the Lord wants.
We scheme and calculate, our ears deaf to the whispers of the Holy Spirit
(could it be because He’s saying something we don’t want to hear …because it conflicts with our personal agenda?).
Speaking from personal experience of my past-I sometimes went where I wanted to go,
hoping my Father would honor those decisions-and come along,
but oftentimes I was alone in the decision.
I knew He was there, but with His “hands off”-
because I went out on my own instead of following Him.
Perhaps you can relate…”like sheep we have all gone astray” (Isaiah 53:6)
Beloved, the best direction to move in will always come as a result of following the path of the Master,
being a follower of Jesus.
So practice honing your awareness of God’s Presence, listening, and making the decision to follow Him wherever He goes.
It will always be the best choice.
