The Gift of Gifts

“For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given;

And the government shall be upon His shoulder,
And His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
There shall be no end to the increase of His government and of peace,
[He shall rule] on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness
From that time forward and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.”
~ Isaiah 9:6-7

Imagine a room filled with gifts for you- boxes of all shapes and sizes, beautifully wrapped.
You make decisions on which one you should open first, then another and another.
Finally the only package left is the one which your eyes had focused on briefly and then passed over;
the one poorly wrapped in plain brown paper, pieces of masking tape barely holding the edges together.
Sometimes the “wrapping” can be misleading, whenthe wrapping is removed  and that re-used box is opened,
you realize that the gift  contained therein is priceless…
you realize that you had opened all the other gifts because of the attractive gift-wrapping, while the actual gift was
just a trinket, nothing of value:
“He had no stately form or majestic splendor
That we would look at Him,
Nor [handsome] appearance that we would be attracted to Him.”
~ Isaiah 53:2b

Pearl
Yeshua the Messiah, the Savior of all mankind-didn’t make His entrance the way I would’ve
(and I daresay most of us) done it.
No grand entrances, no big splash, but to those who were paying attention,
To those whose hearts cared little for outward appearances.
We live in a world full of all sorts of things being marketed to us endlessly, but there is One Gift
that been offered to each of us, whether we choose to receive this Gift and enjoy its endless benefits.
Have you received and accepted your Gift today beloved?
