Transition

“When a woman is in labor she has pain, because her hour has come; but when she gives birth to the child,
she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy that a child has been born into the world.
~John 16:21 (NASB)

When I hear the term transition these days my mind immediately thinks of a woman in labor.
The pain, I am told, is extreme and unmatched in severity.
I didn’t always perceive transition from this viewpoint.;
I thought of it in a smooth uneventful morphing, one season blending into another.
I keep seeing many pregnant woman everywhere, a sign that God has given me of a season that’s pregnant –
pregnant with promise and hope, even in the face of a world filled with evil and darkness.
The transition we have gone through, has been painful, drama filled, with crazy milestones, markers where the Lord has said:
Remember this moment, this day.
You have faced seemingly insumountable odds and as you have called out to me,
asking Me to do the “heavy lifting” I have delivered you, overcoming every trial,
every hurdle, and now you shall enter a season of joy. Remember what I have done for you-remember it with joy.”
What a wonderful and priveleged relationship we have been given as believers-
Our Deliverer is the King of the entire Universe-and our loving Father.
